On July 14th, the first kilometers of Garda by Bike will be inaugurated. The scenic cycle path overlooking Lake Garda is protected by our rockfall barriers
Garda by bike is a unique project, that will offer stunning views while integrating into the surrounding natural environment, with breathtaking passages and a walkway overlooking the lake.
Everything is set for the inauguration of the first section of Garda by Bike, a 140-kilometers circuit that will circle the whole lake, thus connecting three intersecting regions – Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige.
The “floating” cycle path is a design piece itself: the wood-like route features steel fences built as futuristic balconies that will blend into Garda’s stunning scenery and protect cyclists and pedestrians at the same time. The safety of the route is also guaranteed by our rockfall barriers.
We have provided 660 meters of barriers with a height of 5.0 and 6.0 meters for a total surface area of about 3.670 square meters. The installed barriers, of the RMC 300 / A type, can stop boulders with energy levels up to 3000 kJ.
Once the works will be completed (construction is set to be over by 2021), Garda by bike will be connected to other important cycling routes, promoting sustainable mobility and boosting cycling tourism to the area, already a destination favorite among bicycle lovers.
The first two kilometers of the track will open on Saturday, July 14th in Limone sul Garda and will allow to enjoy a view of the lake up to the border with the province of Trento.
