The project for the D1 Motorway – Hricovske Podhradie – Lietavska Lucka goes on without problems.
The object 221 on motorway D1 Hricovske Podhradie – Lietavska Lucka, close to Zilina, is formed by reinforced soil structure MacRes consisting of vertical concrete precast facing panels in combination with polymer geostrip reinforcement ParaWeb.
The size of system concrete panels is 1,5 x 1,5 x 0,14m (concrete C30/37 panels). The wall forms extended wingwalls between two bridges and is 98 m long, the height varies from 6,2 m to 12,5 m. Along the height of the wall the structure is split in two walls with 1,5 m wide berm, based on static analysis the maximum length of geostrips is reaching 9,0 m.
Due to poor foundation, soil and potential local landslides, in order to reach safe level of global stability the toe of the wall is anchored with reinforced concrete wall based on micropiles in combination with rope anchors. In the top of the wall a special concrete coping is used.
STRABAG as a contractor has selected the MacRes system due to its main advantages, which are speed of construction, functionality and economic benefits in comparison with traditional gravity concrete walls. The lower part of the wall is already built, finale works of upper part are ongoing at the present.
The project has been also featured on November 3rd, in the news titled D1 Motorway – Hricovske Podhradie – Lietavska Lucka, and January 14th, in the news titled D1 Hričovské Podhradie – Lietavska Lucka, Object 222.
