Maccaferri organized, for its Croatian distributor Monterra and for Croatian designers, a job site visit in Slovakia.
On June 6-8th, Maccaferri organized for its Croatian distributor, Monterra, and for Croatian designers, a job site visit to the Expressway R2 Zvolen – Krivan, in the middle of Slovakia, and to the Motorways D1 and D3 around Zilina in the North of the country.
Visited jobsites are interesting due to various range of applications and used solutions, including reinforced soil structures MacRes, Green Terramesh and Terramesh with heights up to 18 m and various geosynthetic applications for soil stabilization and erosion protection. Many of these structures are under construction at the moment.
This was an ideal opportunity to see at “one place” different kinds of applications and solutions where some are still in progress and other already completed—for which Maccaferri Central Europe has been contracted for.
During these three days, the Croatian participants were introduced to the principles of design required for the structures durability. Technical presentations were furthermore conducted to shed light on the peculiarities of each engineering solutions.
Recently, Maccaferri Central Europe also attended the 2016 Geology Engineering Conference, and this further guided tour demonstrates how sharing knowledge and skills is a guideline for our company in order to contribute to the growth of the engineering community.
