Maccaferri Central Europe s.r.o. together with Maccaferri Deutschland GmbH actively participated in the ISRM Regional Symposium EUROCK 2015
Held in conjunction with the 64th Geomechanics Colloquium in Salzburg (October 7 – 10, 2015), the city where the ISRM (International Society for Rock Mechanics) was founded in 1962.
These two meetings are the result of the collaboration of Austrian Society for Geomechanics (OeGG) with International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM).
The aims of the Society are:
- the promotion of scientific research in all fields of geological and geotechnical engineering;
- the exchange of experience with all those involved in geotechnical research, and construction;
- the improvement of design and construction methods;
- the elaboration and publication of papers and guidelines.
The Geomechanics Colloquium in Salzburg since its initiation in 1951 has always been a perfect and distinguished meeting place for researchers and practitioners. The success of this concept shown in the continuous meetings over more than 60 years and in the attendance of regularly around 1000 participants.
The meetings provided a unique forum for exchange of experience, presentation and discussion of many topics, during plenary sessions, parallel sessions and workshops focusing on civil structures in rock, mass movements, determination of rock and rock mass properties, monitoring and safety management and many others.
The workshops and courses were led by the most important scientists from Austria, Canada, Germany, Italy, Scotland, Switzerland.
The next Geomechanics Colloquium will be held on October 13th – 14th and it will focus on the geothermal topic: geothermal energy and geothermal aspects in mining. As usual, there will be the possibility to send own abstract, no later than January, 31th 2016, at this contact email: email@example.com
