Kasa Luntian in Tagaytay City Creek Revetment Protection

A quick and cost-effective solution to stabilize and protect the bank from erosion.

MacMat® R was used as revetment protection to increases the soil’s resistance in Kasa Luntian, Tagaytay City.

Kasa Luntian is a leisure residential condominium development located in Tagaytay City, Philippines.

The development embraces sustainable living in harmony with nature. The approximately 0.8 hectares retail district is envisioned to be a leisure residential condominium complex. It aims to develop a quick, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution to build the revetment and protect the banks from erosion caused by stormwater flow. More importantly, the open-channel creek should encourage vegetation to blend with the landscaping of the area.

Maccaferri’s MacMat® R, a steel-reinforced geomat, was adopted as the best solution. It was used as revetment protection which increases the soil’s resistance to erosion by enhancing vegetation growth. Quality topsoil is brushed into the 3-d matrix of the mat following installation.

In addition, Maccaferri’s Reno Mattress was also used as bank protection and channel linings for erosion control. Reno Mattress creates a natural habitat for living species that live in the transition zone between water and land with its interstitial spaces.

Over time, the revetment will self-vegetate, leading to an aesthetically pleasing green facing that camouflages well with the landscape.

Archko Design & Build, the contractor and designer, commenced work in June 2019 and completed the project in September 2019.
