Maccaferri and Politecnico di Milano: shaping the engineers of tomorrow

An educational journey bridging academia and industry to inspire future engineers in sustainable infrastructure development.

As part of the “Passion in Action” program promoted by Politecnico di Milano, Officine Maccaferri launched a dedicated educational path titled “Understanding the Infrastructure Sector and the Role of the Engineer”, running from March to June 2025.

Structured into six thematic modules, the course provided students with a broad and practical insight into the world of infrastructure, exploring the value chain from planning and design to construction, production processes, innovation, and sustainability.

The training program was opened by Stefano Susani, CEO of Officine Maccaferri, who shared an in-depth perspective on the strategic evolution of the infrastructure sector and the role of engineers in shaping its future. Susani also participated in the final classroom session, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry.

The initiative will conclude on June 18 with a technical site visit to the San Donato tunnel, offering students a hands-on opportunity to experience real-world engineering challenges and solutions.

With this project, Maccaferri confirms its strong belief in the value of collaboration with universities and its mission to contribute to the training of the next generation of engineers—professionals who will be called upon to lead the transformation of infrastructure through safety, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
