Maccaferri’s MacGrid® EG reduces consumption of granular material for your railway project
In the 10 km railway track stretch at Gadarwara district in Madhya Pradesh both MacGrid® EG (Biaxial polypropylene geogrid) and MacTex® were used to successfully reduce the blanket thickness from 1m to 0.4m.
Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) has published specifications of geogrid and geotextile for use in railway tracks. Both MacGrid® EG (Biaxial polypropylene geogrid) and MacTex® meet these specifications. In the 10 km railway track stretch at Gadarwara district in Madhya Pradesh, these products were used to successfully reduce the blanket thickness from 1m to 0.4m (sustainable & green solution). Maccaferri’s solution was approximately 30% economical compared to a conventional solution. The project was completed successfully in 2019.
