Driving Sustainable Infrastructure: Maccaferri Philippines at the 11th BRS-DPWH Research Symposium
On 17 October 2025, at the University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) Ang Bahay ng Alumni, University of the Philippines – Diliman, Quezon City, the Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) hosted its 11th Research Symposium, themed “Building the Future: Green Construction for Sustainable Development.”
As part of this important industry-academic gathering, Maccaferri Philippines participated in support of the research, innovation and collaboration goals driving the event.
Commitment to Sustainable Infrastructure
Maccaferri Philippines is dedicated to advancing engineering solutions that are not only effective but also environmentally responsible. Our engagement at the Symposium reinforces our commitment to the Philippines’ infrastructure future—one that embraces green construction practices, resource efficiency and long-term resilience.
We align with DPWH’s aim to engage national government agencies, the academe, private companies and institutions in advancing materials and construction technology for public infrastructure.
A Platform for Research Collaboration and Professional Exchange
The Symposium brought together participants from various Bureaus, Services, Regional and Unified Project Management Offices of DPWH, as well as representatives from academia and related construction industries.
For Maccaferri, this was a strategic opportunity to connect with researchers, industry practitioners and policy-makers—to exchange ideas, explore new ventures and foster research collaborations in materials and construction technology.
By engaging in such a forum, we not only contribute to professional growth and innovation, but also strengthen our network of partners for future joint initiatives.
Showcasing Engineered Solutions for Green Construction
At the event, Maccaferri Philippines highlighted its expertise and portfolio of engineered solutions tailored for sustainable infrastructure. Key areas we emphasize include:
- Systems for slope protection, soil reinforcement and retaining walls that support stability and longevity.
- Environment-aware technologies that enhance construction outcomes while reducing ecological impact.
- Collaboration with project stakeholders to apply these solutions in public-infrastructure projects across the country.
Through this showcase, Maccaferri reaffirmed its role as a trusted partner in delivering engineered systems that combine structural performance with environmental responsibility.
Maccaferri Philippines extends its thanks to the BRS-DPWH for organising the Symposium and to all participating agencies, institutions and stakeholders for their engagement. We look forward to further collaboration and continuing to support the transition toward sustainable, future-proof infrastructure in the Philippines
