Maccaferri Australasia Highlights Resilience in Geotechnical Engineering at AGS Townsville Symposium 2026
Maccaferri Australasia participates in the AGS Townsville Symposium 2026, showcasing resilient geotechnical solutions for extreme events and slope stabilisation.
Maccaferri Australasia proudly participated in the AGS Townsville Symposium 2026, hosted by the Australian Geomechanics Society (QLD Chapter), held on 24 June 2026 at The Science Place, Queensland.
Centered on this year’s theme, “Resilience: Geotechnical Engineering for Extreme Events,” the symposium brought together leading engineers, consultants, and industry stakeholders for a full day of technical discussions and knowledge sharing. The event highlighted the growing importance of resilient geotechnical solutions in addressing increasingly complex environmental and climatic challenges.

A key highlight of the symposium was the series of presentations delivered by leading consulting engineers, showcasing North Queensland projects where Maccaferri solutions were successfully implemented for slope stabilisation following severe rainfall events. These real-world applications demonstrated the performance and reliability of our systems in addressing geotechnical challenges under extreme environmental conditions.
Our team engaged with industry professionals through insightful exchanges on innovative approaches to slope stabilization, erosion control, and ground engineering solutions designed to perform under extreme conditions. The symposium provided a valuable platform to reinforce Maccaferri’s commitment to advancing sustainable and resilient infrastructure across Australasia.

We extend our appreciation to the Australian Geomechanics Society for organizing a highly relevant and impactful event, and we look forward to continued collaboration in strengthening geotechnical resilience for the future.
