Interview with Mr. Sergio Iasi

Sergio Iasi, Chairman of Officine Maccaferri, recently gave an interview to the financial weekly publication L’Economia, a supplement of Corriere della Sera, one of the main Italian generalist newspapers.

In the interview, after the positive resolution of the composition with creditors procedure, the Chairman tells that Maccaferri is ready to continue its growth path, mainly thanks to the development of new key projects. In fact, now that the company is debt-free, it can take new tracks, driven by the great need for infrastructure and geotechnical works, which are key to safeguard the landscape as it is under pressure because of climate change.

Mr. Iasi tells of a significant development of projects and solutions involving both Maccaferri’s core products and applications and non-core solutions such as tunneling and aquaculture. Geographically, the plans foresee the development and strengthening of the business mainly in the United States, Southeast Asia and China

Now that FY 2022 is closing with a record financial performance,, the Group is aiming for Eur 1 billion turnover, a goal that can be achieved more quickly if acquisition opportunities arise. Mr.Iasi is also looking at a possible market enhancement of the company, should the right framework exist.
