Problem
Kiratpur Ner Chowk Expressway, part of National Highway(NH)-21 which passes through the states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The road widening (4-laining) of Kiratpur Ner Chowk Expressway has been done by ITNL. There have been requirement of temporary rockfall mitigation measures to be adopted near ch: 153 to protect the housing area and other infrastructure on the downslope side of proposed alignment when the excavation is done on upslope side as part of the road construction.
Solution
As per the site observations, multiple Rockfall barrier lines of nominal capacity 750kJ (RB 750 Plus) and 4 m height has been constructed for 300 m overall stretch length. The alignment and locations are finalised based on the trajectory analyses, structures to be protected and space availability.
