POND LINING WORKS AT LANJHA

Problem

Lanja is a taluka located in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The basic occupation of the people is farming, which requires a lot of water. Water losses from the pond due to seepage is a major threat for the farmers. Therefore, the client needed a solution to avoid seepage and to be able to store water for an extended period of time.

Solution

Considering water seepage and storage problems, an impermeable lining of the pond was the ideal solution. The side slopes of the pond were dressed in a stable inclination of 1V : 1H with a horizontal beam in-between. The slope as well as the bed of the pond was lined with a geosynthetic solution. A 1mm thick geomembrane MacLine® (SDH) acted as an impermeable liner. The MacLine® was lined on a protective layer of non woven geotextile, MacTex®. To ensure the stability of liners, safe anchoring was done at the top by providing anchor trenches. Advantages : a. Easy handling and installation. b. Quality assurance and uniformity. c. Cost effective.
