MEET THE SPEAKERS

Dr. A. Murali Krishna, is a pprofessor of Geotechnical Engineering at IIT Tirupati. Research interests include Earthquake Geotechnics, Geosynthetics and Ground Improvement, Deep foundations. He supervised 8 Doctoral & 35 master’s students; Co-authored nearly 220 technical publications.

Dr. Amit Prashant, is the BIS Standardization Chair Professor and Dean of R&D at IIT Gandhinagar. He completed his B.E. from IIT Roorkee in 1997 and PhD from the University of Tennessee in 2004. He worked as an Assistant Professor at IIT Kanpur (2005–2010) before joining IIT Gandhinagar. His research focuses on constitutive modelling of soils, earthquake geotechnical engineering, and geosynthetics, involving both experimental and numerical approaches.

Dr. Ashish Juneja, Professor at IIT Bombay, specializes in dynamic soil behavior, underground structures, and ground improvement. An IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi and NUS alumnus, he’s an acclaimed researcher, consultant, and award-winning teacher with global academic affiliations.

Dr. C.N.V. Satyanarayana Reddy, Professor at Andhra University, has 33 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. He has received several prestigious awards, including Engineer of the Year and A.P. State Best University Engineering Teacher. He has guided 17 Ph.D. scholars, published 128 papers, and holds 14 patents. He is a Fellow of IE(I) and IGS, and a Life Member of IRC and ICI.

Dr. G.L. Sivakumar Babu, an eminent geotechnical engineer, educator, and researcher at IISc Bangalore has over 400 publications, global recognitions, leadership roles, and major contributions in geosynthetics, forensic, and geoenvironmental engineering.

Mr. Gianluca Spadaro, is working as Business Development Manager at Officine Maccaferri, taking care about India and the Southeast Asian and Pacific regions. He has over 20 years of experience in the Geosynthetics and Industrial Minerals market, during which he has collaborated with the most prominent companies in these sectors.

Dr. K V Uday, Chairperson of the Centre for Climate Change and Disaster Management (C3DAR) at IIT Mandi, specializes in landslide risk reduction, smart geotechnics, and nature-based solutions. Dr. Madhavi Latha G, is a Professor of Civil Engineering and Chair of the Centre for Sustainable Technologies at IISc. She is a fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering.

Mr. Pierluigi Bassetto, is the CEO and founder of NESA, a leading company in the field of environmental monitoring and early warning systems based on IoT technology, established in 2004. A highly skilled electronic engineer, Bassetto brings a cutting-edge technological vision to the concepts of prevention and safety. Under his leadership, NESA has become one of the key players in the global market for environmental monitoring and alert systems.

Dr. Ratnakar R. Mahajan, Regional Technical Manager at Maccaferri, leads geotechnical initiatives across India, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific. An IIT Bombay alumnus, he specializes in soil reinforcement, ground improvement, R&D, and contributes actively to BIS, IRC, and ISSMGE.

Mr. Rudra Budhbhatti, Technical Head at Maccaferri India, has over 18 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, including rockfall protection, landslide mitigation, soil reinforcement, slope stability, and erosion control. He has contributed to major projects, published papers, and serves on codal committees.

Dr. Satyajit Patel, Associate Professor at SVNIT Surat, specializes in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, with key research in industrial waste utilization, geosynthetics for pavements, and sustainable ground improvement. He holds two patents and 36 international publications.
