The Dream City Depot, a crucial hub for train maintenance and storage on Corridor CI of the Surat Metro Rail Phase-I, faced a major challenge due to the scarcity of quality filter material during the construction of retaining walls. With project specifications requiring a 600mm thick drainage layer using traditional filter media, sourcing boulders due to rapid urbanization and stringent environmental restrictions posed a serious risk of delays and cost overruns.
