Terramesh® as a Retaining Wall to Revitalize the House of Worship 

The foundation uses a Terramesh® System with 2 m depth and the structure on the surface of the ground is 11 m high. Static and seismic analyses have been performed, checking global stability, internal stability and stability as retaining wall (sliding, overturning, and bearing capacity). 

In early 2021, heavy rain with gusty wind hit hard in Batam City, especially in the Bengkong area. The heavy rain and wind caused the landslides in the area in front of Bengkong Public Elementary School 008 and fell on the official house of the Bengkong HKI Church servant adjacent. The area affected by the landslide was approximately 11m high and 20m wide. 

The government along with the local community worked together to clean up the landslide area. The government then took the next step to find the right solution to replace the broken stone masonry. Terramesh® by Maccaferri was chosen as the solution considering its advantages as a permeable, affordable, quick and easy installation.
