Geocells consist of juxtaposed cells normally produced with strips of extrude synthetics materials (either smooth, textured, perforated or not) to form a honeycomb like structure. The main application of these materials is erosion control by holding in place soil or other loose materials. The Geocells are mostly installed in presence of dry and non-vegetative soils with shallow inclinations; recently, they have also been used in combination with symmetric geogrids in soil stabilization applications.
