Maccaferri’s Commitment to Environmental Conservation Realized in Landslide Repair CSR at Al-Husainiyyah Muthoyyibah Foundation in Collaboration with a Major University in Indonesia

The landslide that occurred on the slopes behind the Al-Husainiyyah Foundation on April 23, 2023, severed the connecting road between the foundation and the main road, disrupting residents’ mobility. In response, Parahyangan Catholic University initiated a landslide repair assistance program in the area, collaborating with several major engineering industries in Indonesia, including Maccaferri Indonesia.

“Our CSR program was initiated out of our concern for educational institutions that share a commitment to serving the community. Together with alumni associations and donors, we have successfully realized this landslide repair assistance program,” said Dr. Aswin Lim, Chairman of the CSR Committee at Parahyangan Catholic University.

As part of this CSR, Maccaferri applied MacMat HS® with vegetation covering an area of 300 square meters. MacMat HS® is a high-performance geomat that combines a three-dimensional polymer matrix geomat reinforced with Maccaferri’s netting system. It is used for slope surface stabilization applications requiring a combination of erosion protection and surface stabilization.

In addition to preventing landslides, MacMat HS® also helps preserve natural vegetation, making the slopes greener and creating a safer, more comfortable, and sustainable living environment for residents.
