Breakwater Structure from Maccaferri Indonesia for Aston Hotel Anyer
Aston Hotel Anyer is located on the beach, so it is often hit by big waves. In addition to hitting facilities and buildings on the beach, big waves also disrupt the activities of hotel visitors. Therefore, an effective solution is needed to solve this problem.
To create safe and comfortable conditions, a breakwater structure is essential to reduce wave energy reaching the shore. Maccaferri Indonesia proposed using an environmentally friendly, effective, and efficient gabion structure as a breakwater at the Aston Hotel Anyer beach.
Aston Hotel Anyer is located on Jl. Raya Karang Bolong KM.139 Cinangka, Serang, Banten. Directly adjacent to Marina Beach, causing big waves that are often disturbing because they often hit beachside facilities and disrupt the activities of visitors. Therefore, to create comfortable and safe conditions a breakwater is needed. Breakwaters, which are parallel offshore structures, aim to “break” the waves and reduce the energy of the waves reaching the shore. Maccaferri Indonesia proposed the use of Gabions for breakwater structures. In this case, PoliMac® coated Gabion is used.
Breakwaters are often constructed of stone or concrete, forming walls or submerged barriers that run parallel to the shore. Maccaferri Indonesia proposed using the Gabion structure as a breakwater at the Aston Hotel Anyer beach. The Double-Twisted Wire Mesh is coated with an essential polymeric coating, PoliMac®, for protection against shock waves, abrasion, and UV exposure. The use of this material has proven to be more environmentally friendly, effective, and efficient in terms of construction time and costs.
