Maccaferri Will Participate at the 1st Congress of Rock Mechanics in Zacatecas


Our solutions for the mining industry will be shared at the event

The increasing relevance of this engineering discipline depends on the fact that Rock Mechanics is applied to the design of the rock structures generated by mining or civil construction activity such as tunnels, mining shafts, underground excavations, open-pit mines, road cuts and also includes the design of reinforcement systems. In addition, Rock Mechanics involves many job/safety related issues.

From April 10th-13th, the 1st Congress of Rock Mechanics will be held at the COZCYT Center in Zacatecas. The main topics of the congress will include:

  • Mine Design Technologies, geotechnical instrumentation
  • Efficient paste backfill design and dynamic rock support
  • Development and stabilization of mining tunnels at great depth

Given our worldwide expertise in the mining industry, we will be present to showcase our state-of-the-art technologies. From tip and crusher walls, haul roads, rockfall hazard mitigation, product concentration, and leachate storage, to dewatering and site remediation, our range of solutions can help mine owners with any kind of problem at each stage of their mine’s lifecycle.

This congress topics are strongly connected to the issue of safety at work and the quality of the working environment. These are two topics that make us stand out: the environmental friendliness of our products enabling the reuse of on-site materials as structural backfill of reinforced soil structures, reducing the environmental impact of importing material and transport costs. As well as the need of minimal skilled labor contributing to local job creation.
