RETAINING WALL AT BATAM CHURCH REVITALIZATION

Problem

Due to heavy rainfalls, a landslide occurred at Church in Bengkong, Batam. Landslide occurred along the border between the school building at the top of the slope and the church. The landslide caused a wall in the church buried in soil and was harmful to the people’s activities. The area affected by the landslide is approximately 11m high and 20m wide.

Solution

Terramesh System decided to build in the area affected by the landslide. The foundation uses Terramesh System with 2m depth, and the structure on the surface of the ground has 11m high. Static and seismic analyses have been performed, checking global stability, internal stability, and stability as retaining wall (sliding, overturning, and bearing capacity). The selection of a proper solution as a retaining wall was decided to Terramesh System Material, apart from its ability to withstand the backfill soil, the solution provides more added values, such as flexibility, permeability, durability, environmentally friendly, Easy installation method, and economic cost ensure the solution as the most suitable solution.
