Maccaferri was pleased to participate in the HKIE Geotechnical Division 46th Annual Seminar, held on 12 May 2026, which brought together more than 500 industry professionals under the theme:

“Fundamentals and First Principles: Bridging Theory and Practice in Geotechnical Engineering.”

The seminar featured keynote presentations by Ir Prof Philip Chung and Ir Dr Victor Li, who shared valuable insights on how a strong foundation in first principles continues to drive technological advancement and resilience in engineering practice.

Discussions throughout the seminar highlighted how revisiting engineering fundamentals enables professionals to effectively apply current technologies while paving the way for future geotechnical innovations.
