Maccaferri was honoured to participate as a Silver Sponsor of the inaugural Malaysian Regional Geotechnical Engineering Conference 2026 (MRGEC 2026), held from 17–19 June 2026 at The Imperial Hotel, Kuching, Sarawak.
Hosted for the first time by Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, the prestigious conference marked a significant milestone for Malaysia’s geotechnical engineering community, bringing together more than 700 industry professionals, academics, researchers, technical experts, and government representatives from across Malaysia and abroad.
Officially launched by the Minister of Works Malaysia, YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, MRGEC 2026 served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration within the geotechnical sector. The event featured 33 expert speakers and 45 exhibition booths, showcasing the latest technologies, solutions, and advancements in the industry.
Under the theme “Resilient Ground, Sustainable Future”, the conference focused on four key areas: Geotechnical Innovation and Site Investigation, Slope Stability and Landslide Management, Foundation Engineering, and Ground Improvement.

MRGEC 2026 was organised through a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Works Malaysia, JKR Malaysia, JKR Sarawak, and JKR Sabah, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing geotechnical engineering excellence and fostering industry-wide collaboration.
