Vung Ang – Bung, Vietnam Project: Engineering Through Challenges
Turning Challenging Landscapes Into Safe, Lasting Infrastructure
On the Vung Ang – Bung Expressway—one of Vietnam’s key national routes—advanced engineering solutions were applied to overcome steep terrain and demanding natural conditions.
The Challenge
The project required reinforcing three large hills with high erosion and rockfall risk, all within an extremely tight construction window. Steep slopes, unstable soil, and unpredictable weather added to the complexity, calling for continuous work and a highly skilled team.
The Solutions
To address these challenges, the project deployed:
- Rockfall protection systems
- Erosion control and slope reinforcement measures
Construction teams worked day and night, maximizing every favorable weather window to keep pace with the fast-track schedule.
The Impact
The 55km expressway—crossing Ha Tinh and Quang Binh—has now been successfully completed, delivering a safer, more stable, and long-lasting route for regional connectivity. The completed works reinforce the surrounding landscape, enhance road safety, and support reliable operation for decades ahead.
