Driving Slope Resilience: Maccaferri Joins IEM Central Seminar on Sustainable Design and Monitoring

Highlighting Hellomac Geo as an IoT-Enabled Rockfall Protection System for Enhanced Site Safety and Real-Time Monitoring

In collaboration with the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Central Chapter, Maccaferri recently participated in the “Seminar on Resilient Slopes: Sustainable Design, Monitoring, and Governance”, held in Kuala Lumpur.

The one-day event brought together close to 100 engineering professionals, academics, and government stakeholders to address one of Malaysia’s most pressing infrastructure challenges — slope stability in the face of environmental pressures and growing development.

A Platform for Knowledge and Collaboration

The seminar featured a range of expert presentations, covering:

  • Green and sustainable slope design approaches
  • Technological advancements in slope monitoring and early warning systems
  • Case history of a liquefaction-induced slope failure
  • Malaysia’s National Slope Master Plan 2025–2030

These discussions provided practical insights and encouraged cross-disciplinary dialogue on building safer, more sustainable slope infrastructure.

Maccaferri’s Rockfall Expertise on Display

Maccaferri contributed to the seminar through its product showcase, featuring its comprehensive rockfall protection systems, including the newly launched Hellomac. Designed to enhance slope safety through smart, IoT-enabled monitoring.

With this successful engagement in Slope Seminar, Maccaferri continues its ongoing knowledge-sharing journey across Malaysia.
