Maccaferri supplied and installed Reno Mattresses in Montaudran, Toulouse
As part of a project near Toulouse, Maccaferri France supplied and installed Reno Mattresses for the construction of a retention basin. Watch our time-lapse video to see the step-by-step construction by our teams, in accordance with the NF94 325-2 standard, which concerns the installation of Double Twist (DT) gabions and Reno Mattresses in hydraulic environments.
At the end of 2016 Maccaferri installed Reno Mattresses as part of the construction of a retention basin along the A620 Highway in the commercial area near Toulouse. Maccaferri Reno Mattresses are cages, engineered from double twisted hexagonal woven steel wire mesh. Delivered flat-packed, they are assembled and then filled with stones at the project site to form flexible and permeable, monolithic structures such as river bank protection and channel linings for erosion control.
The solution proposed by Maccaferri had to respect the constraints of the site. For example, as the slopes of the retention basin were steep (45 degrees), a customized solution was designed to prevent the mattress from sliding. In fact, the Reno Mattress is retained in an anchor trench at the crest of the cut slope.
1,350sqm of Reno Mattresses were installed in two weeks.
