Working alongside all stakeholders, we designed, supplied and installed two reinforced soil solutions using our Terramesh® and Green Terramesh® Systems
Two retaining structures were needed at the new property development of Les Hauts de Sévigné in the municipality of Cesson Sévigné, France. We were chosen to design, supply and install our Terramesh® and Green Terramesh® reinforced soil systems. This is an example of our partnership approach, as we worked alongside the general contractor and consultants/designers to provide a high level of service and ensure timely completion of the project.
We worked closely with the several partners involved in this project, including the real estate developer Groupe Launay, the construction company Schmitt TP and the consultants/designers Servicad, Fondouest and Arcadis to deliver a timely and successful construction of two retaining structures.
The first Terramesh® System structure is a 300 m long and 6.5 m high retaining wall supporting a platform. Our Terramesh® System units consist of a gabion facing element with a 3 m long double-twist steel mesh reinforcement. Our high-performance geogrid ParaGrid® 50 was used as primary soil reinforcement to ensure long-term stability.
The second Green Terramesh® structure is a 200 m long and 5 m high embankment reinforcing the banks of a rainwater pond and running along a railway track. This particular type of Terramesh® System consists of pre-fabricated units of double-twist wire mesh lined with an erosion control blanket and stiffened with a welded mesh panel. The solution comes with two pre-formed steel braces that are meant to be connected at the job site to ensure that the unit remains fixed at the required slope angle.
Both structures were installed by our team in accordance with the NF94 325-1 standard concerning the installation of gabions.
