Maccaferri Latin America participates in the 12th Gold and Silver Symposium in Peru and presents its Mining related MacGrid, Mactex, Gabion and MacDrain solutions.
Peru is expected to receive mining investments of US$ 64 billion in the coming years. The forecast announced by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (Minem), Rosa María Ortiz, in 2015, has been confirmed, with the expansion of mining activities, which account for 5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the country.
The 12th Gold and Silver Symposium, held on 17 and 18 May, reinforced the importance of the mining industry in Peru. Based in Lima, the symposium brought together over two thousand visitors, including professionals, investors, and businesspeople linked to mining. The National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy is the body responsible for organizing the event, whose agenda included market trends for gold and silver, as they contribute to the world economy and the economic development of Peru.
In booth number 71, Maccaferri was present at the 12th edition of the event, among solution providers for mining infrastructure. The company highlighted its range of geosynthetics including MacLine geomembranes and MacGrid soil reinforcement geogrid for sealing, as well as retaining walls and MacRo systems, for prevention of rockfalls and reduction of debris flow risks.
To elaborate further, the National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy is a civil Association recognized and authorized by the Peruvian government. It acts to promote the efficient development of mining, oil exploration, and power generation, seeking to encourage the sustainable use of natural resources and social development.
