Challenge
The Fouka Bay development required a distinctive and high-quality signage solution for villas and chalets that would complement the project’s modern coastal architecture. Beyond functionality, the signage elements needed to serve as architectural features, blending seamlessly with the landscape design while withstanding harsh coastal environmental conditions. Traditional signage solutions were unable to meet the combined requirements of durability, visual appeal, and material consistency across a large residential development, particularly with a high number of identical units requiring uniform quality and finish.
Solution
Maccaferri delivered a bespoke solution using luxurious welded gabions, specifically designed to function as architectural signage elements throughout the Fouka Bay development. A total of 900 welded gabion units, with a maximum height of 1 m, were designed, supplied, and installed to create robust, elegant, and visually striking signage structures. The welded gabions provided a clean, contemporary appearance, excellent dimensional stability, and long-term durability, while allowing natural stone infill to harmonize with the surrounding landscape. This solution successfully combined engineering precision with architectural expression, delivering a unique, durable, and high-end signage system fully aligned with Tatweer Misr’s design vision.
