Problem
The Diakoniehaus in Lehnin (Brandenburg, Germany) is founded mainly on peat and soils with very low bearing capacity. All access roads faced many deformations due to unstable foundation soil. The reconstruction of the roads was inevitable to assure the safe drive of ambulances to the local elderly hospice. The designer looked for a product that could withstand the load pressures from the constant ambulance traffic and help extend the lifespan of the newly paved road, minimizing the damage associated with the truck traffic, such as cracking and rutting.
Solution
The IDAS Planungsgesellschaft chose to use the Maccaferri Road Mesh to be installed under the new roadway. T The strength and flexibility of the Road Mesh reduce the cracking and rutting of the new roadway by absorbing the load pressures of the vehicle traffic and dispersing it more evenly over a greater area. This increases the time between maintenance and repairs to the roadway, saving the Diakonihaus time and money.
