REDEVELOPMENT OF "PINETA" TRAINING CENTER

The municipality wanted to install football turf systems (artificial grass) on 3 out of 4 pitches at "Pineta" sport center, an 11-a-side, a 7-a-side, a 5-a-side The 11 was an old grass pitch while the surface of the smaller ones was fine gravel/sand. The sub-base has a standard vertical drainage system, the section is 210mm (gravel mix - 3 layers) with microperforated pipes every 7m to catch the water and let it flow to the perimetral drainage and then to the municipal wastewater system Since the chosen infill for the full-size pitch was an organic mix of coconut and cork on a 50mm turf the last component of the system had to be an "underlay" with both high drainage capacity and sport performance (shock absorption and vertical deformation)

Our partner Limonta Sport Spa decided to include MACSPORT in their LND (Italian FA) approved system to allow the best drainage capacity combined with the required sport performances. This system does not require an impervious membrane between the MACSPORT and the sub-base The installation of the full size pitch took place in August 2019 and one year later the pitch looks brand new while the installation of the smaller ones finished in June 2020
