Problem
To support the economic development, Bontang city started to construct Bontang City Office as its administrative facility office. It is located on a hill which consists of saturated clay. The failure of concrete retaining wall structure (rigid structure) requires a comprehensive solution to solve problem of retaining wall structure.
Solution
Maccaferri Terramesh System as a flexible structure can provide solution for the problem of unstable soil condition. It is a reinforced embankment structure with permeable facing in the form of gabion to reduce the pore water pressure. The using of Mactex behind the gabion as filter will keep the groundwater flowing without losing soil grain.
