In order to resolve the issue, the slopes were analysed and the solution was to cover the slopes with Double Twisted Wire Mesh in order to prevent small debris from falling, as well as a second layer of high capacity ring panels in order to prevent bigger rocks from falling. This solution aimed to stabilize slope’s surface in order to prevent surficial rockfalls. Additionally, all slopes were individually examined from a geotechnical perspective and further measures were implemented based on the specific conditions of each slope locally. Where necessary, surface anchoring was applied alongside the ringnet installations, enhancing the overall safety of the slopes.
