Challenge

Ban Fayard in Yasothorn province is an area heavily scoured by the She river. To prevent land losing from the scouring, Gabion and Reno Mattress have been used as flexible structure and permanent solution for the erosion protection problem.

Solution

3m high Gabion wall along with 20m length and 0.3m thick mattress protection below the wall were chosen to protect the bank from scouring and to reclaim the recreation area behind the wall. The pilot section with a total length of 100m was constructed with Galfan coating type. Galmac Gabions with size equal to 2x1x1m and Galmac Reno Mattresses with size equal to 6x2x0.3m have been used. productivity rate has turned out to be equal to 10 m3 per man per day.
