Challenge

An old-world Italian charm residential subdivision, Il Giardino Residences by CitiHomes Builders and Development Inc., was planned in General Trias, Cavite, Philippines. The boundary lines of the subdivision were unprotected slopes with heights that ranged from two meters to 12 meters, and were adjacent to a small creek. An economical solution to protect the perimeter and saleable lots of the residential community was required.

Solution

After studying the challenges of the project, Maccaferri engineers proposed a gabion gravity retaining wall system. Aside from being structurally sound, the gabion wall system was found to be both economical and practical that provided its immediate approval from the customer.
