ROCKFALL PROTECTION AT GOODVIEW HEIGHTSMSG LONG

Goodview Heights Township is a prestige development by one of the well-known property developer Sin Heap Lee Development Sdn Bhd. However, there are several fractured and irregular rock slopes that might affect the construction in which it needs to be treated. Hazard to the development is imminent should the fractured rocks detach from the slope surface and fall. This prompted the client to take precautions immediately to protect the rock slope.

Maccaferri Galfan Steelgrid™ G8/3.0 was laid on top of the rock slope, with rock bolts anchoring at every 3m spacing. This acted to strengthen and prevent detachment of any loose rocks from the rock surface. An estimated of 1800 m2 with a height up to 30m are to be protected and covered. Galfan Steelgrid™ which is made of zinc-alluminium alloy coating to better corrosion protection is a netting consist of steel cables weaved longitudinally into wire mesh. This enhances the drapery stiffness, thus effectively transfers all heavy stress to the rock bolts.
