Drainage of structures

The Governor Carvalho Pinto Highway (SP 070) begins at the junction with the Ayrton Senna Highway in the municipality of Guararema and ends at the intersection with the President Dutra Highway, which connects the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. This highway underwent pavement restoration work in various sections of its segment, requiring a pavement preservation solution involving the construction of lateral base drains. The goal was to remove excess moisture from the structural layers of the pavement.

The adopted solution was the construction of draining trenches using the MacDrain® TD geocomposite as lateral base drains. These drains are designed to rapidly collect water that infiltrates the pavement's surface and is present in its structural layers. The aim is to maintain the structural balance of its layers, preventing a loss of pavement support capacity and ensuring greater longevity for the restoration project.
