Challenge

During the monsoon season, heavy downpour caused a massive slope failure along Kuala Krai - Gua Musang Road (Package 5), Kelantan. Terramesh system was chosen for this job because of its ease in construction and hence, shorter time to completion.

Solution

Since Terramesh is a permeable retaining wall, water can be drained out freely from the soil retained. Hence, the problem of pore-water pressure build up can be avoided. The height of the wall is 7m with 1m of foundation toe.
