MacMat HS100 Provides Long-Term Slope Protection Along Sg Ruil Road
Sg Ruil Road Slope Protection
Land development, agricultural clearing and nearby human settlements can leave tropical slopes vulnerable to surface erosion and shallow slip failures. When natural vegetation is removed and the terrain is re-contoured, the balance between soil strength, water movement and root reinforcement is disrupted.
To address these risks and provide long-term slope stabilisation along Sg Ruil Road, engineers specified MacMat HS100 as a flexible facing for the installed soil-nailing system.
MacMat HS100 is a three-dimensional geomat with a void ratio of more than 90%. Installed across the slope face, it helps control erosion and provides additional stability to the exposed soil between the nails. Its highly porous structure also encourages vegetation growth, enabling the stabilised slope to develop a greener, more natural appearance that blends with the surrounding environment.
By combining erosion control, soil reinforcement and vegetation support, the solution delivers lasting slope protection while reducing the visual impact of the engineering works.
