The historic and iconic transatlantic race, which departed from Le Havre on 26 October, featured more than seventy boats, including over forty in the Class40 fleet.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Italian duo sailed one of the toughest races on the circuit, managing constant meteorological changes with clarity and maintaining a competitive pace throughout the crossing. The route proved highly technical, with phases of unstable winds, complex low-pressure systems and decisive routing choices to stay within the leading group.<\/p>\n\n<p>The first part of the regatta brought an unexpected technical issue, handled in the best possible way. In the very first hours \u2013 after a brilliant start that saw the team fighting for the top positions \u2013 an electrical problem forced the skipper and co-skipper to make a safety-motivated technical stop of several hours in Cherbourg, which was then solved thanks to the swift intervention of Futura\u2019s shore team together with specialised technicians.<\/p>\n\n<p>However, the stop did not undermine the team\u2019s determination: Rosetti and Sericano began the second leg with a firm and fast pace, immediately rejoining the front group and showing remarkable ability to respond to setbacks and maintain consistent performance even in the most challenging conditions. In the second part of the race, Maccaferri Futura sailed steadily among the fastest boats, thanks also to the strategic choice to head south from the very first days \u2013 a longer but quicker route that allowed the crew to anticipate shifts in the trade winds and decisively enter the wind corridor that proved decisive for the final standings. This dynamic was confirmed in the very last stages of the race, when the boat delivered a decisive sprint in the final miles, climbing from tenth to sixth place.<\/p>\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt was a challenging race, full of moments when we needed to make bold decisions and stay calm,\u201d&nbsp;<\/em>said&nbsp;<strong>Luca Rosetti<\/strong>&nbsp;upon arrival in Martinique.<em>&nbsp;\u201cWe are very pleased with the result: finishing the second leg in sixth place in such a fiercely contested race is a confirmation not only of the boat\u2019s performance, but also of the team\u2019s work. Matteo and I found an excellent balance; we pushed when we could and protected the boat when we needed to. Maccaferri Futura performed well in all conditions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>The 2025 edition was one of the toughest in the history of the Transat Caf\u00e9 L\u2019OR. The trade winds, weak and intermittent, required constant course adjustments, while the initial phase \u2013 sailed upwind in winds of up to 50 knots \u2013 put crews of all classes to the test. In a fleet where gaps remained consistently tight, Maccaferri Futura\u2019s result in its debut in an ocean race takes on even greater significance.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Sergio Iasi, President of Officine Maccaferr<\/strong>i, commented on the result:&nbsp;<em>\u201cThis result marks an important milestone for Maccaferri Futura and a great source of pride for all of us at Maccaferri.
