One of the most important infrastructure projects in the United States needs critical rockfall protection before construction can safely continue
The Oroville Dam is the tallest dam in the U.S. Located in Northern California along the Feather River in Butte County, it has been at the center of the United States’ heated debate over the deterioration of critical infrastructure from coast-to-coast. In 2017, the Dam failed during historical flooding in California and contractors have been called in to rebuild the dam.
In order to do so, critical rockfall protection was necessary to protect workers from falling rock around the spillway. Maccaferri, twice during the project provided rockfall protection materials to ensure the safety of construction works. Read more about how Maccaferri’s SteelGrid® is utilized to keep workers safe on the Oroville Dam project.
