The second in the series focused on Flood Damage Prevention in Residential Areas.
A case study was referenced in this email regarding the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area.
In that part of the state, there are many creeks and tributaries, one of which is Alice Creek. During rains, these creeks rise dramatically and property owners in a Dallas suburb that adjoins Alice Creek were losing their backyards and facing potential foundation damage to their homes whenever there was a heavy rainstorm.
