Maccaferri will be exhibiting at the 3rd NASL in Roanoke, VA, June 4-8, 2017
Maccaferri’s Rockfall group will be exhibiting at the 3rd annual North American Symposium on Landslides in Roanoke, VA, June 4-8, 2017!
The conference aims to put experience, knowledge and emerging technologies into practice regarding landslides in the region.
With the effects of global warming being seen around the world, extreme weather is becoming more prevalent. There were the years of the long droughts that plagued California, followed by a 2016-2017 rainy season that caused dam destruction and landslides across the state. While the accurate prediction and successful prevention of landslides is difficult, there are measures available that can help to mitigate the effects.
At Maccaferri, we are prepared with the resources and knowledge to assist in projects that help to mitigate these risks and lessen or even eliminate the risk associated with landslides, debris flows and falling rocks. We recently responded to an emergency along Highway 41 in Southern California. Heavy rains plagued California and, as a result, landslides occurred on a major travel route between Atascadero and Morro Bay. These landslides triggered more than a month’s long closure of the 17mile-long stretch. Caltrans Engineers elected to utilize our Black PVC coated Double Twist Wire Mesh Cable Nets to prevent future landslides in the area. To learn more about this, please visit our case study on this project.
Our rockfall group is an experienced team of engineers who are specialized in applying our wide range of product lines to suit the needs of our clients and to keep the public safe. We have experience solving complex issues across the US and worldwide. Our experts will be on hand at the symposium to talk with you about your project needs and the challenges you are facing on your projects.
We look forward to meeting you!
