Maccaferri USA will be presenting and exhibiting it’s Mesh systems at the upcoming 67th Highway Geology Symposium to be held in Colorado Springs, CO
The upcoming 67th annual Highway Geology Symposium (HGS) will be held at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 11-14, 2016. The HGS was established to foster a better understanding and closer cooperation between geologists and civil engineers in the highway industry.
The Highway Geology Symposium was organized in 1950. Since 1962, the Symposium has been hosted in western and eastern states on alternating years. The 2016 Highway Geology Symposium Planning Committee Chair is Ty Ortiz with Colorado Department of Transportation. The Committee consists of local and national volunteers from various companies and agencies.
Maccaferri has had extensive experience with working within a very short timescale on technically challenging and steep sites. The mesh systems developed for highway works on mountain passes–vulnerable to rockfalls due to their topography and geography–are a well-known challenge to Maccaferri.
