Maccaferri sponsored Williamsport Angels U10 Travel baseball team garnered its first 2nd place finish ever in a tournament.
Competing in the West Virginia Fall Classic at Summit Point, WV, the Angels had their first walk-off win in the bottom of the 6th inning by a score of 9-8.
In the next game, the Angels then competed in a “slugfest” with the Winchester Virginia Nationals and fell by a score of 20-18.
The team was playing well and then faced the Chambersburg Renegades for a chance at redemption. The Renegades had just recently beaten the Angels twice at the tristate showdown the previous weekend.
This time, the Angels came out on top by a score of 11-1 and advanced to the Championship Game. Coming up against the WV Coyotes again the Angels kept it close until fatigue took its toll on the kids and they fell by a score of 18-13.
In the end they received a runner up medal but the success at this tournament needed to be noted.
