GeoAmericas is hosted by the North American Geosynthetics Society (NAGS) and will be held at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel at Miami Beach, Florida. The International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) and Geosynthetica (Geosynthetica.net and GeosIndex.com are publications of Minerva Technology, Resources & Information) are associate sponsors.
IGS has developed a program to advance the knowledge and understanding of geosynthetics at every level, from novice to expert. Geosynthetics is a very diverse topic and contains a wide range of interests and applications. This event was designed to facilitate learning and dialogue on the key issues faced by geosynthetic communities throughout the Pan-American region.
Key application sectors include transportation, mining, infrastructure, waste, and water. Quality and durability within the application of geosynthetics is also discussed. Geogrids, geotextiles and geomembranes are topics with which Maccaferri specializes. Soil reinforcement, retaining walls, hydraulic works and mining reclamation are key Maccaferri Inc. areas.
At GeoAmericas, Maccaferri Inc. will presenting the following papers:
· High Tenacity Polyester Linear Strips in Non-Standard Reinforced Soil MSE Retaining Structures: Design Method and Case Studies (Lugli, Miller, Scotto)
· Lime Stabilized Backfill in MSE Retaining Structures: Application and Advantages (Lugli, Lembo, Mandavkar)
