    Iligan City in the province of Lanao del Norte, is known as the Philippines’ city of majestic waterfalls and also home of the Lake Lanao Agus River System. The lake’s elevation is around 700 meters above sea level making it a natural reservoir. Its only exit is to the Agus River, which flows northward into Iligan Bay. There are seven hydroelectric power plants along the river system, of which, Agus VI and VII hydroelectric power plants are the two biggest sites. The upslope of the access road going to Agus VI and VII HEP has been characterized by rocky slopes with lush vegetation. In 2009, due to heavy rains brought by typhoons, falling rocks and landslide occurred and damaged a portion of the access road’s upslope. The incident affected the power plant’s operation, thus the damaged slope must be rehabilitated immediately. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

    The National Corporation engineers, in coordination with the general contractor (Altronics), approved the solution recommended by Maccaferri. To mitigate falling debris, a simple drapery system was installed using polymeric-coated SteelGrid rockfall net being the cheapest and most practical solution to the problem.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>
