{"id":29464,"date":"2022-12-12T18:13:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-12T17:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.maccaferri.com\/ph\/?p=29464"},"modified":"2025-08-26T08:56:37","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T06:56:37","slug":"dynamic-rockfall-barrier-in-lagonoy-presentacion-road-camarines-sur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.maccaferri.com\/ph\/news\/dynamic-rockfall-barrier-in-lagonoy-presentacion-road-camarines-sur\/","title":{"rendered":"Dynamic Rockfall Barrier in Lagonoy-Presentacion Road, Camarines Sur"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-mac-container-block box-container\"><div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\"><div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><p>Certain sections along Lagonoy \u2013 Presentacion Road in Camarines Sur are characterized with steep slope with loose fragments occasionally falling, bouncing, rolling, and sliding down along the slope due to weathering actions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>With the Convergence and Special Support Program Special Road Fund, DPWH Regional Office 5 seeks to address possible safety concerns in identified critical areas using\u202fMaccaferri Dynamic Rockfall barriers\u202fto capture falling boulders and protect the road infrastructure and passers-by in the event of rockfall.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Rockfall simulations have been performed and the impact energy identified is 1500 kJ.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Maccaferri RB1500\u202fhas been proposed as it has undergone EAD 340059-00-0106 assessment and has proven to be a competent barrier. The fence is designed to withstand the impact of multiple impact scenarios.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>After rigorous screening and qualification in terms of product performance and quality compliance, the proposal was approved and accepted by DPWH Regional Office 5. Subsequently, construction works were awarded to ALRO Constructions. The following potential issues were considered in determining the suitability of a solution: the ability to mitigate the range of identified hazards, road safety, cost considerations, and constructability. The fence option presented was the best fit for the site and met all the requirements.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Maccaferri Philippines provided design and technical assistance to the client and the contractor. Maccaferri is involved from the project\u2019s preliminary design stage until completion. Maccaferri Philippines assisted in the preparation of barrier installation and maintenance method statements to guide the contractor in their work.
