The natural terrain of the site was observed to be depressed and becomes a catchment area when rainfall pours that led them to seek\u202f<strong>an alternative solution apart from the initial plan to construct a costly reinforced concrete retaining wall system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>To address this concern,\u202f<strong>Maccaferri engineers developed a suitable Mechanically Stabilized Earth Wall system\u202f<\/strong>(MSE Wall) design using\u202fMacGrid WG, woven polyester geogrid for\u202fsoil reinforcement. A wrap-around construction technique combined with over thirty thousand MacBag Soil Bags were used for MSE Wall and\u202fMacDrain geocomposites\u202ffor the possible build-up of pore water.<\/p>\n\n<p>With the system\u2019s\u202f<strong>simplicity and use of site-won materials<\/strong>, the material costs were minimal, and the speed of construction is relatively fast.
