MacGrid® AR are planar geogrid structures used for the reinforcement of asphalt roads. The geogrids are made from glass fibre or polyester woven together in a grid configuration, which is then coated. They exhibit high tensile strength and high modulus of elasticity at low elongation. They offer a cost-effective solution for preventing reflective cracking within the upper asphalt layers of road pavements during resurfacing works.
MacGrid® AR G geogrids also include a geotextile backing to the grid structure. The textile is impregnated with bitumen to provide crack prevention with a waterproof membrane and improved bond between the asphalt layers.
MacGrid® EG are high modulus high density polyethylene (HDPE) grids, produced by an punched and extruded process and characterized by a tensile resistance in both longitudinal and transverse directions.
MacGrid® EG are geogrids are used primarily within the granular layers of road construction, or in access tracks in forestry, mining and agriculture. They also provide a soil stabilisation function.
The granular backfill interlocks with the MacGrid® EG, which provides lateral restraint to the aggregate particles.
MacGrid® EG control deformation and rutting within these structures, and often enable the thickness of these granular layers to be reduced.
MacGrid® is a geogrid for soil reinforcement, made from high molecular weight, high tenacity polyester multifilament yarns. The yarns are woven together under tension in the machine direction and finished with a protective polymeric coating.
MacGrid® WG geogrids are used for most soil reinforcement applications such as reinforced soil slopes and when soil consolidation and support is required.
MacGrid® WG geogrids are engineered to be mechanically and chemically durable, and resistant to biological degradation.
