FibroMac™

Maccaferri FibroMac™ polypropylene fibres are composed of extremely fine polymer filaments produced by an extrusion process. Synthetic fibres do not bring structural benefits to the concrete, but bring other advantages. They are primarily used to protect the integrity of the concrete when it is subjected to high temperatures and direct heat, such as fires. They dramatically reduce thermal spalling.

FibroMac™ synthetic fibres also improve plastic shrinkage and freeze-thaw cracking.

Important note: The Bekaert-Maccaferri joint venture: In October 2014, we entered into a global sales and distribution JV with Bekaert. The resulting joint venture, BekaertMaccaferri Underground Solutions will serve underground construction markets on a worldwide basis, except in mainland China and Hong Kong, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay, where Bekaert and Maccaferri will continue to operate independently.

In mainland China and Hong Kong, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay only, Maccaferri offers Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) for use within industrial flooring, concrete slabs and precast concrete products.
